Junaid Jamshed begins campaign to solve Karachi's issues [The Nation] 17 Aug, 2016
KARACHI: Religious scholar Junaid Jamshed and a social organisation have initiated a joint campaign to solve Karachi’s issues.
Citizens can launch their complaints with this campaign titled ‘Hum Se Hai Karachi’ (Lit: Karachi is from us).The campaign was announced in a joint press conference by Junaid Jamshed and social organisation Jafariya Disaster Cell. They said that the campaign aimed at highlighting the issues faced by the common people before the officials without any discrimination on political, religious or linguistic bases.A helpline number 1024 has also been introduced in this regard. However, the citizens may contact the helpline after filing their complaints with the respective departments. The campaign has three phases including finding the solutions for issues pertaining to availability of water and electricity, repairing the broken roads and helping the injured in road accidents.Junaid Jamshed also presented the car that would pick 7 tons of rubbish from the city daily.
